Attorney General
Richard R. Wier, Jr. was elected Attorney General of Delaware in November 1974 and was the youngest Attorney General elected at that time. He served with distinction from 1975-1979 and received numerous Awards for his service including commendations from the Delaware General Assembly and inclusion in Who's Who in America.
Among the commendations by the Delaware General Assembly was a Joint Resolution honoring him for his lawsuit as Attorney General on behalf of the crippled children and elderly of Delaware. The lawsuit against the Nemours Foundation was successful and has brought to Delaware in excess of Five Hundred Million dollars ($500,000,000) since 1980.
Mr. Wier served as Chair of the Charitable Trust Committee of the Association of Attorneys General and was honored by the Association in 1979. He is an active member of the Society of Attorneys General Emeritus (SAGE) and has extensive personal contacts nationwide.
